ILP Travel Blog Posts

When I was pursuing my Bachelor’s in English at BYU, we had to take a class geared toward succeeding in an internship they matched us to. I was matched up with the International Language Program (ILP) and was assigned a weekly blog post to write. It was a lot of fun and I really admire this program. There are a lot of awesome posts to check out if you are interested in traveling.

For the full list of posts I wrote for ILP, see my author page here: https://blog.ilp.org/author/shoshana-weaver

For now, I’ll just include a few of my favorite posts. You’ll find below the titles, links, a short description, and the pdf versions of the blog posts. For copyright purposes, the photos included are all either free use or used by ILP with permission.

Greek Easter + Celebrations During Your Spring Semester in Europe

This was the first blog post I wrote, and while it was intimidating at first, I really enjoyed doing all the research and thinking about what kind of trip people might be going on.

(Guess this one has since been deleted, but here is a PDF-formatted version)

Resources To Help You Dive Into Mexico Before Your Trip There!

This is the other blog post I chose to include in my writing sample portfolio for my Master’s program application, so you’ll notice a change in formatting after this. I enjoyed writing this post because of the wide variety of resources and information I was able to provide. I think this would be an entertaining way to prepare for a trip to a new destination.

A Complete Guide to Visiting Stonehenge

https://blog.ilp.org/a-complete-guide-to-visiting-stonehenge

When I received the topic of visiting Stonehenge, I figured that my post would be rather short compared to the more general posts I’d been writing. Instead, it was nearly the same length as I worked to prepare a detailed itinerary for a visit. I would love to visit Stonehenge one day.

Plan an Island Vacay on the Mediterranean Islands of Malta!

https://blog.ilp.org/plan-a-fun-weekend-to-the-mediterranean-islands-of-malta

Unsurprisingly, this post and the next post are the longest ones I wrote, being a rather in-depth description of taking a trip to an entire city. This was a fun post to write because this is how I like to prepare for any trips I take. Hopefully readers appreciate my research and enjoy their trips.

A Dreamy Trip To The South Of France:
Marseilles + Les Calanques

On top of being fun to research, these city vacation posts were fun to write and the pictures are amazing. I hope that someday I can travel to France and appreciate the many things I learned about.
