Copy Editing

With the password, which you can request from me, you can view some of my copyediting samples. I have examples prepared of Light/Medium CE and Heavy CE, done using Track Changes in Microsoft Word (or Suggesting mode in Google Docs). They are not included here for the privacy and copyrights of the author(s).

This is a sample print proofread. For print proofreading, the final PDF print copy and the Word document of the manuscript were provided. As the editor, I read through the print PDF, comparing it to the Word document and looking for any typos, missing words, or formatting issues. Then I added them to the spreadsheet, with notes to locate and fix the problem.

Ebook Editing and Proofreading

This is a sample of some of my ebook editing notes. For eBook editing, the print copy PDF was provided along with the eBook file (EPub) for comparison. As the editor, I read through the ebook, comparing it with the print copy, to check for any mistakes that may have been added in the conversion process or any bugs in the ePub coding. Then I added them to the spreadsheet, with notes to locate and fix the problem.

Audiobook Proof-listening

This is a sample of audiobook proof-listening. For audiobook proof-listening, the audiobook files and the print copy PDF of the manuscript were provided. As the editor, I listened to the audio while comparing it to the manuscript, listening for any mixed-up words, loud sounds, or needed retakes. Then I added them to the spreadsheet, with notes to locate and fix the problem.
